collaboration, consultation and negotiation are
necessary for the successful implementation of the
project. At such times skills, in tact, diplomacy and
political bargaining, are appropriate. Successful
urban design method probably results from the
marriage of these opposite characteristics, that is,
the need to imagine or to see in the mind’s eye a

dream of how the world may be and the discipline
necessary to achieve that desired future.
