Clicking the Blank Database button transforms the new database area at the right side of the new
database screen (see Figure 2.4). Figure 2.4 actually shows this area after the Marketing Projects
database template has been selected as the source of a new Access database. When selecting the
Blank Database button, the picture area above the File Name box is, quite literally, blank.
Enter the name of the new database in the File Name box in the Blank Database area. By default,
Access creates the new database file in the folder specified in the Access options screen. (The
Access options are discussed throughout this book.) By default, Access selects your My
Documents folder as the new database’s destination. If you want to use a different folder, use the
browse button (it looks like a Windows Explorer folder) to the right of the File Name box to
browse to the location you want to use.
