When letting people fly, always remember, in the end, you are responsible
for what they do or do not do. Be prepared to “take the blame.” There will
always be someone who burns you and this will tempt you to pull back
the reins and become a micromanager. Don’t. To do so is to tell others
that you mistrust their professionalism. Better to get in hot water once in
a while than to lose the trust and support of your staff.
