T Baked French Toast
You never had French toast so easy as with this dish. This is a one-pan bread custard
that can be prepared in the dish the night before and baked the next morning. Try
topping this with berries to give it a fresh, sweet taste without adding sugar.

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 25 to 30 minutes
Yield: 4 servings (1 slice each)
1 teaspoon butter
2 large eggs
(^1) ⁄ 2 cup nonfat milk
(^1) ⁄ 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
(^1) ⁄ 2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon sugar substitute
4 slices whole-wheat bread
1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9-x-13-inch baking dish with butter.
2 In a medium mixing bowl add eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar substitute and
mix well.
3 Place the slices of whole-wheat bread flat on the bottom of baking dish and pour the
mixture over them. Bake for 15 minutes or until the custard is firm.
