Place the tuna, dill, hot sauce, garlic, and lemon juice in a food processor and purée for
20 seconds. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula, add sour cream
and mayonnaise, and purée for another 30 seconds.

Tip: Stored in an airtight container, this keeps fresh for two days.

White Albacore Tuna Dip


This dip can be eaten soon after surgery while you’re in the smooth diet stage, but it
tastes good enough for anytime.

Stage: Smooth foods
Preparation time: 5 minutes

Yield: 6 servings (^1 ⁄ 4 cup each)

Two 6-ounce pouches white albacore tuna
4 tablespoons chopped fresh dill weed
2 teaspoons hot sauce
2 teaspoons minced garlic

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

(^1) ⁄ 2 cup light sour cream
(^1) ⁄ 2 cup light mayonnaise

There’s a whole lot more to do with salsa than dip chips. Serve some over chicken, sea-
food, fish, beef, pork or any other dish to jazz it up for few calories.
