- Apply the noise reduction to the image by
adjusting the three sliders or just entering
the percentage you want to apply into the
corresponding entry box. There is also a
check box you can select to help remove
JPEG artifacts.
Strength. This controls how much noise
reduction is applied to the image. The
trade-off is that as you increase the
strength of the noise reduction, you can
start to lose detail.
To apply noise reduction in Elements, just follow
these steps:
- Open the image in Elements.
- Choose Filter ➪ Noise ➪ Reduce Noise.
The Reduce Noise window opens, as shown
in Figure 11-2.
If you look at ACR and compare it to
the Develop module in Lightroom,
you will see that they are the same. They are developed
at the same time, and when one is updated, so is the
other. That means that the noise reduction feature in
ACR is also the same as the one in Lightroom.
