Signed “H. Finck” l.r., titled in pencil on the

stretcher, identified on two handwritten labels

affixed to the stretcher.

Oil on canvas, 25 x 30 in. (63.3 x 76.4 cm),

framed.

Condition: Minor retouch l.l. corner, mild

canvas deformation to l.r. corner, surface

grime.

N.B. On a label affixed to the stretcher,

the artist explains the title of the painting,

“Dominique remodeled a house with the help

of his friends and relations. They clambered

all over the thing and worked everywhere at

once...” A second label indicates that the

painting was exhibited at the Irvington (New

Jersey) Museum in a two-person exhibition in

1943.
