Condition: Lined, minor paint losses,
craquelure, surface grime.
N.B. The study depicts the artist’s daughter
Mary at age 14. The finished version of My
Children in the Woods, 1911, formerly in the
collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston,
is now in a private collection.
A 4 1/4 x 3 3/8-inch photograph of the work
at hand, inscribed on the back by Mary Tarbell
Schaffer, accompanies the lot.
