Thestudentmustlearntorespectandtrusttheteacher.Also,thestudentmustallowtheteachingto
penetratedeeplywithintheheart.Itisonlythenthattheteachingwillhaveatransformativeeffect.
HetheruallowedDjehuti’swordstopenetratehercold,anguishedheart.Thenshebegantoremember
herpastglory.Thisistheprocessofdivinememorywhereinshebegantoregaintheremembranceof
hertrueidentity.Thepainofseeinghercurrentlevelofexistenceincomparisonwithherpastglory
broughthertotears.Also,shefeltthepainofrealizingthatshewasmissingoutontheboundlessdi-
vineloveofhertrueessence.Thisisthecommonemotionalexperienceofaspiritualaspirantwhen
understandingastotheirtruepredicamentbeginstodawn.“WhathaveIdonetocomedownfromthe
heightsofdivinitytothelimitedstateofhumanlifeandmortalexistence?HowwretchedamI?How
degradedamI?”Thesearethekindsofquestionsaskedbyaspiritualaspirantbeforeheorshebegins
tounderstandthemeaningofthespiritualteachings.Thisformofthinkingleadstoaresolutiontore-
gainone’struegloryandtoriseupfromthedegradationofignorance,“MayIfindateacherwhocan
guidemeonthepathtoself-discoveryandenlightenmentatonce!”Thus,Hetheru,cametorespect
Djehuti.Sheacceptedhisoffering,listenedtohisteachingsandlatertrustedhimwithherlife.Asone
beginstoreflectontheteaching,intuitionalunderstandingopensuptheopportunitytoviewthe
beautyandexperiencetheinfinitecompassionoftheSelf.Thentherearenomorequestions,onlya
keendesiretoexperiencethiselevatedstatemoreandmore.Anaspirantmightsayatthispoint,“I
have glimpsed a wondrous bliss within. Let me fully discover it and abide in it.”
