Dull person will try to dismiss it as a blasphemous text and put it out of their mind.
Yet,theexamplesareallaroundus,andinourownlives.Everyonehasexperienceswheretheyfol-
lowedacourseofactionbasedonanideathatcameonthespurofthemomentandiftheyhadacted
otherwisetheywouldhavebeenledtoadversity.Examplesaredrivingdowntheroadandstopping
evenwhenthelighthasturnedgreenandtheyhavetherightofway.Anothercarrunsthelight.Ifthe
firstpersonhadnotstoppedtherewouldhavebeenaseriousaccident.Whenaskedwhytheystopped
thesimplysaidthat“theyjustknewtheyneededtowait.”Anotherexampleisapersonwhoaccom-
plishedadaysworkonthecomputerandthenallofasuddenhadtheideatochecktoseeifthein-
formationwasbackedupproperly.Itwasnotsotheyproceededtobackitupimmediatelyandas
soonasthebackupwascompletedthecomputercrashed.Iftheyhadnotbackeduprightthenthey
wouldhavelostallthework.Thesekindsofexperiencesaboundinhumanlifeandtheyareevidence
of a higher aspect of mind, the intuitional aspect.
Thelucidityandintuitionaboutlifethatwehadwhenwewereyounghasbeensubsumedinthe
depthsoftheegoduetothesocializingforceofculture.Yetevenasadultsweareamazedatsome
eventssuchasourabilitytoknowsomethingbeforeithappens,butwedismissthatascoincidence.
TheLucid-mindedpersonbecomessensitivetotheinternalvoicethatisconnectedtotheDivine,and
theDivineseesandknowsall.SowhenapersonmovestowardstheDivineinthought,wordandac-
tion,thecapacitytoparticipateintheknowledgeoftheHigherSelfbecomespossible.Thisfacultyis
calledintuition,anditisahealingpoweraswellasanenlighteningforcethatneedstobecultivated,
justasanyotheraspectofthepersonalityiscultivated.Ifapersonwantstobecomeaconcertmusi-
cian,he/shemustpracticeandcultivatetheirart,andsotootheintuitionalcapacitymustbecultivated
aswell.Thisisdonebystudyoftheteachingsandthepracticeofthedisciplinesenjoinedbythe
teachings, which unburden the mind and expand the horizons of consciousness.
