however,howwouldyoufeelabouthavingsurgeryperformedonyoubyadoctorwhoonlyread
abouttheprocedureinbooks,withnodirecttrainingunderthedirectinstructionandguidanceofan-
otherexperiencedandqualifieddoctor?Wouldyouwantapilotwhoonlyreadaboutflyingfroma
booktoflyaplanethatyouwereon?Evenbasketballplayersundergorigoroustrainingundera
coach’sdirectiontobecomeprofessionals.WhyshouldtheprocessofattainingEnlightenmentbeany
different?Ifanything,itrequiresmoreguidanceandcoaching,asitsattainmentissosubtleandelu-
sive,duetothemanytricksthattheegoisticmindcanplayandtraptheinitiate.Thus,inspirituality,
guidance is also needed.

mybowl.YouaskmewhatamIeating,andIreplytoyouthatIameatingaspecial

whatdoesittastelike.Istruggletofindthewordstogiveyouinsightintothetaste.
Itellyouittastessomewhatlikeacombinationofmangoesandpeaches.Youac-
knowledgethis,knowingwhatmangoesandwhatpeachestastelike,however,you
stilldonotreallyknowwhattheicecreamexactlytasteslike.Youhaveanidea,but
notexactknowledge.Theonlywayyoucanreallyknowistobeabletotasteit
