Engineering Design with SOLIDWORKS® 2016 Fundamentals of Drawing


Display an Isometric view.



  1. Click Isometric view from the Heads-up View toolbar or from
    the Orientation dialog box.


Create a Fillet feature.




  1. Click the Fillet feature tool. The Fillet
    PropertyManager is displayed. Click the Manual tab.
    Click the Constant Size Fillet type.




  2. Enter 1 mm in the Radius box. Symmetric is selected by
    default.




  3. Click the hidden edge as illustrated.




  4. Click the other 3 edges as illustrated. Each edge is
    added to the Items to Fillet list. Accept the default
    settings.




  5. Click OK from the Fillet PropertyManager. Fillet1 is displayed in
    the FeatureManager.




Save the GUIDE part.



  1. Click Save.


Open the Drawing.




  1. Right-click the GUIDE Part icon in the
    FeatureManager.




  2. Click Open Drawing. The GUIDE drawing is
    displayed.




Fit the drawing to the Graphics window.
331) Press the f key. Note: Hide any unwanted
annotations.


Display the GUIDE features.
332) Expand Drawing View1 from the FeatureManager.




  1. Expand the GUIDE part from the FeatureManager.




  2. Click Fillet1 from the Drawing FeatureManager. Insert the dimensions for the Fillet1 feature
    on the Dims Layer. The current layer should be Dims. If required, select Dims.




The Model Items, Import into drawing view, Import items into all views option insert


dimensions into the Section view and Detail view before other types of views on the
drawing. The Fillet feature dimension in the part is displayed in the Section view.
