The base configuration comes equipped with
a 1.4GHz quad-core Core i5 processor, 8GB of
RAM, a 128GB SSD, and Intel Iris Plus Graphics
645 in Space Gray or Silver finishes, and True
Tone technology will automatically adjust the
white balance of the computer’s display to
properly match the color temperature of the
light around it, creating a more comfortable
viewing experience in a similar manner to
Night Sight on the iPhone and iPad. What’s
more, a teardown has revealed an improved
battery com and non-upgradable SSD,
which allows for its slim frame but makes it
hard to repair. Reviews have been fixed, with
AppleInsider saying that the SSD is “not the
fastest drive the Apple offers, but it’s still
leagues better than a spinning hard drive,”
whilst UberGizmo said it was “more powerful
than it had expected.”
