OVERDOSAGE

Queasiness, vomiting, headache, stupor, disturbance of color

vision and cardiac arrhythmias are the most likely conse-

quence of overdosage. Overdosage is more likely to occur

with parenteral administration of strophanthin-G or glyco-

side mixtures.

see Digitalis folium. The danger of poisoning after oral

administration is relatively low, due to the poor absorption of

the glycosides.

DOSAGE

STROPHANTHUS GRATUS SEEDS

Mode of Administration: The drug is available as injection

solutions and capsules and in combination preparations.

Preparation: A tincture is prepared by using 1 part coarsely

ground powder (previously specially treated) stabilized for

content with 10 parts 70% ethanol (V/V) (DAB6)

Daily Dosage: Tincture daily dose is 1.5 g. The single dose

is 0.5 g.

Homeopathic Dosage: From D4: 5 drops, \ tablet or 10

globules (from D2): Tincture: single dose: 0.5 g and daily

dose: 1.5 g.

Mode of Administration: The drug is available in mono-

preparations, and is rarely used in combinations.

Homeopathic Dosage: From D4: 5 drops, 1 tablet or 10

globules (from D2) every 30 to 60 minutes (acute) or 1 to 3

times daily (chronic); parenterally: 1 to 2 ml sc, acute: 3

times daily; chronic: once a day (HAB1).
