4.5.1.6 Change Protocol Button
The ‘Change Protocol’ button is used to increase or decrease the predetermined protocol.
This button can only be used during the Warm-up stage.
4.5.1.7 Go To Recovery Button
The ‘Go to Recovery’ button is used to stop the exercise test at any point and go directly to
Recovery. The SP will continue through the Recovery Stages but will not complete the remainder of time
in the exercise stages.
4.5.1.8 Show Data Button
The ‘Show Data’ button is used to look at the heart rate and blood pressure from the
previous stages. See Exhibit 4-33 for an example of the ‘Show Data’ window on the treadmill test screen.
4.5.1.9 Estimated VO 2 Max Field
The ‘Estimated VO 2 max’ field is used to view this variable after the treadmill test is
completed. The VO 2 max is calculated and displayed after Recovery 2 has been completed.
4.5.1.10 Continuum Bar
The continuum bar has the predicted maximal heart rate (PMHR) in beats per minute on the
top and the percent of the maximum heart rate (%HR) along the bottom.
During Warm-up, the SP’s heart rate should increase to approximately 60 percent of
the maximum heart rate. This range is displayed on the continuum bar. If the heart rate
goes higher than this, the protocol should be decreased for Stages 1 and 2.
During Stage 1, the SP’s heart rate should be about 60-80 percent of the maximum
heart rate. When the ISIS system changes to Stage 1, the continuum changes to reflect
