There are 16 horizontal lights on the treadmill controller display (See Exhibit 4-52) to
represent the predetermined protocols, including the currently selected protocols and
the ones in the next lower and next higher levels.
‘WmUp’ is the Warmup Stage of the current protocol. ‘Stg 1 Cur’ is Stage 1 of the
current protocol, ‘Stg 2 Cur’ is Stage 2 of the current protocol and ‘Rec Cur’ is the
Recovery Stage of the current protocol. If the protocol does not have to be changed
during the test, the controller will advance through these four stages only.
‘Stg 1 Low’ is Stage 1 for the next lower protocol, ‘Stg 2 Low’ is Stage 2 for the next
lower protocol, and ‘Rec Low’ is the Recovery Stage for the next lower protocol. If
the protocol has to be decreased, when the stage changes from Warmup to Stage 1,
Press ‘Next Stage’ slowly until you get to ‘Stg 1 Low.’
‘Stg 1 High is Stage 1 for the next higher protocol, ‘Stg 2 High’ is Stage 2 for the next
higher protocol, and ‘Rec High’ is the Recovery Stage for the next higher protocol. If
the protocol has to be increased, when the stage changes from Warmup to Stage 1,
Press ‘Next Stage’ slowly until you get to ‘Stg 1 High.’
