Check belt tension on treadmill. See Section 2.1.1.1 for a description of how to check
treadmill belt tension.
Check rear roller guards. See Section 2.1.1.3 for a description of how to check rear
roller guards.
Check calibration on the BP monitor with the mercury manometer (0-70 mmHg
within +/- 5 mmHg). See Section 2.3.2 for BP calibration procedures. If the BP
calibration checks are not within the acceptable range, enter the difference between
the mercury manometer reading and the reading on the BP monitor in the ‘Result’
field. (Example: Difference = 8mmHg). See Figure 6-10. Enter the reading on the
manometer and the reading on the BP monitor in the ‘Comment’ field. (Example:
Manometer = 110; BP=11 8 ). Notify the chief technologist. Make a note of this in the
‘Comment’ section. (Example: Reported to the chief technologist.)
Check calibration on BP monitor with mercury manometer (70-120 mmHg within +/-
5 mmHg). If the BP calibration checks are not within the acceptable range, follow the
same procedures as in the preceding bullet.
