APPENDIX E. REVIEW OF EDIT CRITERIA

Entire Exam (these criteria apply throughout the entire exam):


ƒ %PMHR greater than 100% Go to recovery (no exceptions)


ƒ %PMHR greater than 85% Check RPE and if SP is OK based on criteria,
(19 through 49 years) continue.


ƒ %PMHR greater than 90% Check RPE and if SP is OK based on criteria,
(12 through 18 years) continue.


ƒ SBP greater than 260 mmHg Go to recovery (no exceptions)


ƒ DBP greater than 115 mm Hg Go to recovery (no exceptions)


ƒ RPE greater than 17 Go to recovery (exception at end of Stage 2)


Warmup


ƒ %PMHR less than 50% Increase exercise protocol


ƒ %PMHR greater than 60% Decrease exercise protocol


ƒ Criteria for ‘Entire Exam’ also apply Go to recovery


Stage 1


ƒ %PMHR greater than 80% Check RPE and if SP is OK based on criteria,
continue.


ƒ Criteria for ‘Entire Exam’ also apply Check RPE and if SP is OK based on criteria,
continue.


ƒ RPE >17 Check if SP understands concept of RPE. Go to
recovery only if RPE actually is >17.


Stage 2


ƒ %PMHR greater than 85% Check RPE and if SP is OK based on criteria,
(19 through 49 years) continue.


ƒ %PMHR greater than 90% Check RPE and if SP is OK based on criteria,
(12 through 18 years) continue.
