Suggested Introduction to the Component (Not a Standard Script): Spanish Version
Measurement of Height and Weight to Determine Body Mass Index
Once you are in the Cardiovascular (CV) Fitness room, log on to the Integrated Survey
Information System (ISIS) and confirm the SP’s identity. (Section 1.3 provides a brief explanation of
ISIS, the data entry system that is used for this study.)
After you have logged on to the system, check the first screen to determine if the height and
weight information is displayed on the screen. If the SP was in the anthropometry component prior to this
test, the height and weight will be uploaded and displayed on the ISIS screen. If the information is not
displayed, you will need to measure the SP’s height and weight using the stadiometer and floor scales in
the room. The system will use the height and weight measurements to calculate the body mass index and
use it in the calculation to determine predicted VO 2 max. You must use the same precision to take the
height and weight measurements in this component as you use in the anthropometry component.
