"visualaids,"(<In hardlybeoverstated.Theintegrationofancient Near
Easternarchaeologywithbiblicalstudiesintheologicalcontexts,however,
isanOlhermatter.Thisarticleoffersempatheticandpracticalretlectionfor
biblicalstudiesinstructorswhorecognizetheinlcgralrelationshipbetween
theologicalrefledionandtheassessmentofarchaeologicalrcaliabutare
perplexedifnOlbeleagueredbystudentresistancetothetask.Tothisend,
thearticlebeginswithanelucidationoftheepistemologicalculturethatis
oftenimplicitinlhebiblicalstudiesclassroom.Second,a particuhlrtheo-
logicalhermeneuticisofferedasaworkingexampleofonesustainable
approachtoa theologicalintegrationoftextandartifact.Finally,thearticle
