proofforthehistoric:tltruthofbiblicaltexts. Biblical:lrchaeologyis,

Laughlin'stitle,ArchaeologyandtheBible,isoneofthemoreinnova-
tive. Byavoidingtheuseofanygeographicalterminology,Laughlinhas
alsocleverlyavoidedthepotenlialpoliticalorreligiousbiasesassociated
withthesenow"loaded"geographicalterms.
Thoughshort(noneexceeds 223 pages),theyarewellwritlen,easyto
read, andprovideasoundandbalancedpresentationofcontemporary
