staying healthy in the fast lane

  • There are many food-intolerant reactions to dairy products.
You name a symptom, and I have seen it caused by some type
    of dairy product consumption.

  • The Paleolithic diet, which many people seem excited about,
didn’t contain any dairy products at all (except maybe occa-
sional eggs), yet where is the evidence that Paleolithic man
had weak bones and wasn’t strong?

  • Species with the most massive bone structure (elephants,
hippos, rhinos, giraffes, cows, etc.) don’t eat milk products to
maintain strong bones or muscle mass.

feels? Take one month and do the “Ain’t Got Milk” challenge and
completely eliminate all dairy products. Don’t just cut down or cut

species of animals for one month. Keep a Diet-Symptom-Exercise
Diary (see Educational Handouts at Prescription2000.com) and
notice how many symptoms improve. After one month, add back
in the dairy products you ate most frequently and see how you
feel. Many people will recognize that dairy causes some distress-
ing symptoms. Some will also notice that dairy is a cause of excess
calories, resulting in weight gain.

Problems with Dairy Product Elimination

Some simple and fixable problems can occur when “big” dairy
consumers go off dairy products. Some experience a drop in blood
sugar because they have such a limited diet and don’t know what
else to eat. This is solved by eating whole, unprocessed foods fre-
quently off the Basic Elimination Diet (BED) food list. Others may
get leg cramps, especially at night, because they do not eat other
sources of calcium and magnesium. They might take a calcium/
magnesium supplement or better yet eat calcium and magnesium-
