My husband and I searched the
internet for locations in Susse
England, featuring architectur
or ruins. We drove along the
narrow country lanes of Balcombe
and the Ouse Valley before
arriving at the viaduct on the
London to Brighton line. It
appears out of nowhere, this tall
Victorian structure of intricate
decorated brickwork. At the foot
of the tall, slender columns you
truly appreciate the size of the
viaduct crossing the valley.
The hollows between the pillars
give a sense of the viaduct’s
length, create a stunning visual
