expressions.


Heads should be posed in such a way that theyare on
differinglevels,andshouldnotbeinlinewitheachother;
this will create a more interesting composition for the
viewer,wherethegroupbecomesthefocusratherthanthe
individualswithin,andtheeyeisabletomovearoundthe
piece with ease. This
arrangementcanbeachievedonaflatsurfacewithclever
posingandvaryingthelevelsatwhichpeoplearestanding/
sitting.Youcanalsomakeuseofchairs,thefloorandother
propsinordertoachievethis.Onlocationyoumayfind
morenaturalwaystodothis–aflightofstairs,awalland
some trees, for example, can produce some interesting
ways to group people together.


Most importantly you should plan, take control,
communicate constantly, work quickly and take more
imagesthanyou wouldnormally doof eachpose. With
morebodiesintheshootthemarginforblinksandmissed
expressionislarger,sogiveyourselfmoreofachanceof
capturing everybodytogether; if this doesnot occur, by
takingampleimagesyouwillbemorelikelytobeableto
manipulate an image to please the client.
