Makinguseofthelightfromwindows,doorsandanyother
openingswillenableyoutousetheavailablelightinthe
samewayasyouwouldalargesoftboxinthestudio.By
simply moving the subject around the window with an
understandingofthedirectionofthelightsourceyoucan
achieveallmannerofdifferentlightingtechniques.Ifthe
lightfromthewindowordoorwayistoobrightandharsh,
just positioningthesubjectfurtherintotheroomorata
slightangletothesourcewillinstantlysoftenandsmooth
any harsh highlights. If this is not possible, by simply
placingalargediffuserorothertranslucentmaterialagainst
thelightsourceyouwillachievethesameresultofsoftand
dispersed light,which ismoreflatteringto thesitter.Of
coursediffusersandreflectorscanbeusedinbalancewith
eachother,butwhendoingsotakecaretoensurethatthe
lighting does not become too flat.
