Vignetting
Vignettingisthedarkeningofanimagetowardstheedges
of the frame, an effect more commonly caused by the
limitationsofsomelensesandthewayinwhichthelight
passesthrough them.Sometimeshowevera photographer
maypurposelychoosetoapplyavignettetoanimagein
post production for creative effect, as it can draw the
viewer’s attention towards the centre of the image.
InnewerversionsofPhotoshopthereisanoptiontoenable
thelensprofilecorrectionswherethespecificqualitiesof
certain lenses are already preset and will rectify any
negative lens distortions.
Camera Calibration
Inthis area oftheCamera RAWmenus various camera
settingsmaybeappliedtotheimage.Thedefault setting
forPhotoshopwillbeAdobeStandard,whichmaywellbe
acceptable for certain images. However it is worth just
checkingthroughtheotheroptionsavailabletoseeifthey
improveontheimage.Dependingonthecamerausedto
take the image, the options can vary from landscape,
portrait, vivid and standard, amongst others.
