Havingsaidallthis,JPEGscancomeintotheirownwhen
used for shooting. They take up a significantly smaller
amountofspacethana RAWfile,andwhenshootingin
certainsituationswhereahighvolumeofimagesneedsto
betakenthiscouldbeofgreatbenefit.Toillustratethis,
onecameracapturingfilesontoan8GBcardwouldbeable
to record approximately 396 RAW images; however if
shootingwithhigh-resolutionJPEGsthecapacitycouldbe
as high as 1900.


CAMERA SETTINGS

Thethreemostimportantvariablesettingsthatyoushould
familiarize yourself with and fully understand are ISO,
shutter speed, and ƒ-stop. These must be considered
independentlyand mastered inrelationto each otherfor
successful portrait photography. The photographer must
developtheabilitytocontrolandmasterthelight,andhow
itisthenrecordedtothefocalplane.Eachisasimportant
astheother,andevenslightvariationsofeachcanhavea
profoundeffectonthefinaloutcomeoftheimage.They
are all explained in detail below.
