forgive and give grace to my friendships. This is what makes
us different than the world. If we serve and encourage and
invest in people, they will grow because of our life-giving love.


I John says it this way, “Whoever claims to love God yet hates
a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their
brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God,
whom they have not seen.” I John 4:20


Love is a muscle that grows with use. The more we practice
humbling ourselves and giving love out of obedience to God,
the more loving we shall be. The amazing result in my own life
has been that the more I humble myself to love others no
matter what, the more my love and worship of God has grown
because I realize how much it cost Him to be humble and give
to a totally rebellious and ungrateful world. Practicing love
increases your love for God.


Motherhood is a place where servant love is seen and felt.


Love is the foundation of influence in the life of your children.
If you want your children to love the God that you believe in,
then they will learn about His generous servant love by
watching your life and learning what God’s love is by receiving
it from you.


The very first attribute that Paul tells us about love in I
Corinthians 13 is: “Love is patient. Love is kind.”


Being patient with others, especially our children or family, is
such a challenge. They are so dependent on us and need our
time, our attention, our labor, our prayers, our training, and our
patience—because it takes them a long time to grow to be
mature. I believe that God gives us children as a training
