without it costing His life. Yet, as He prayed and sought God,
He was still and listened to the Father. In the end He accepted
God’s will for His life and humbly died on the cross for our
sins.


Learning to listen is such an important part of any relationship.
Think back to when you first started dating your husband and
all the hours you spent talking and listening to him. One of the
most important acts of love you can do for someone you care
about is to slow down, sit down, and give him or her your
undivided attention by listening. Learn to shut out the noise,
the distractions of your day, and come before the Lord through
prayer, reading His Word and quieting yourself before Him.
That is when you can hear His voice, when you purposefully
sit and listen.


God created us for rest. He even rested on the seventh day
after He created the world. Why do we think we can constantly
be on the go and not take time in our busy lives to just sit and
be still?


4. Spend Time in His Creation


“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—
his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen,
being understood from what has been made, so that men are
without excuse” (Romans 1:20). God’s creation helps us to
know God. He purposely designed His world that way. But for
many of us, especially in the United States, we don’t get out
into God’s creation enough to see Him in it. There is a
difference between cognitively learning about what the ocean
is like and actually experiencing the power and majesty of it. I
