Chapter 5: You Can Trust Him


God sees you. He made you, knows you, and loves you. You
can trust Him. Part of our issue with not fully surrendering our
lives to Jesus is because we don’t really know if we can trust
Him.


Joseph had to learn the hard way how to trust God when his
brothers sold him into slavery. Rahab had to learn to trust God
for who He is, rather than what she was. We see in Rahab’s
story that when we place our faith inwho God is, we see that
He does what He says He will do. God keeps His promises.


You can trust Him.


Remember, dear friend, God sees the big picture.


When you realize your life is held in His loving hands, you can
begin to release it to the one who breathed life into you
(Genesis 2:7). Take confidence not in your own abilities but in
His, in His work in your life (Philippians 2:13).


We live in a broken world where people have failed us. Dads,
who were supposed to help us understand God’s love for his
children, have left us, abused us, or failed us in other ways. No
wonder so many of us struggle with trusting God, because we
have not been able to trust the fathers in our lives. But we must
remember we live in a broken world. God does not necessarily
operate the way your dad did. God is completely holy,
completely loving, and completely trustworthy.
