Employing an array of colours
and abstract shapes in her
designs. Carean Yatomo
Meechan enjoys working across
both digital and analogue, often
using screen printing processes
and papercutting techniques.
For her project What If?
Yatomo Meechan designed the
branding, invitations and posters

CLAIRE MCNALLY
BA Communication design
Glasgow School of Art

Claire McNally is a maker/
designer who incorporates
tactile and crafted elements
within her work, including
traditional printing techniques,
sculpture and textiles. Following
her graduation, she’s now moved
back to London in search of
studio-based employment.
McNally’s project,
Questioning the Universe, is
a typographic exploration of
an eponymous speech by
Stephen Hawking, using Adrian
Frutiger’s typeface Univers. “It
offers a journey through time,”
she explains, “with every five
sheets of paper signifying five
billion years, and with directions
at certain stages to turn back
through the book, and
effectively back through the
journey of the universe.”
