Nasos Apostolopoulos has a
special fondness for print-based
works such as lithography and
aquatint, and loves to use lots of
visual detail to draw the viewer
in. His project, Searching for
127, features his unique
interpretation of Greek
Orthodox art through a series of
SRA2 black lithographs. “I
wanted to create comic-like
images, but without making the
narrative too obvious,” he
explains. “The environments and
the hidden stories within them
are based on my experiences
from travelling and moving to
different countries and places.”

EMMASOFIA SALMINEN
BA Communication design
Gray’s School of Art

Emmasofia Salminen creates
illustrations based on pop
culture references. Her project,
Thug Life, is about the strange
laws that are still in effect in
Britain today, she explains. “Did
you know that it’s illegal to be
drunk in a pub, or that you
might be fined for beating a rug
in the London metropolitan
area? I wanted to juxtapose the
silliness of these minor offences
by making the perpetrators look
like they were either in the Mafia
or deep in gangster culture.”
