If you’ve only selected to import data from one track, clicking the ‘Replace’
button replaces the selected track in the active project with the imported data.

Step-by-step Importing content with the File Browser

1

Open Browser
Open the Logic project that you want to
import the content into – we’ve got a simple
drum track in this one. Then click the button to
open Logic’s File Browser pane.

2

Tab please
Click the ‘All Files’ tab to bring up a file
browser with a layout similar to the one found
in the Finder. You can navigate to any folder on
your computer from here.

3

Locate target project
Use the browser to locate the project you
want to import from. Our example (at User>
Music>Logic>Arps and Drums) contains a
bass part we want to use with our drums.

4

Open up
Once you’ve located the project, double-
click the project icon. Instead of opening the
project, Logic will display a list of all the tracks it
contains listed in the Browser.

7

Custom view
You can customise the table by Control-
clicking the table header, then hiding/showing
the columns. You can also drag the headers
left or right to change the column order.

5

Locate target track(s)
Global tracks are listed at the top, followed
by tracks from the Tracks area, then Masters,
then finally Aux tracks. The one we want is an
audio track called Prophecy Bass.

8

Import selection
Click the ‘Add’ button in the lower right
corner, or hit the Command+Down Arrow
keys on your keyboard to import the selected
track(s) into the active project.

6

Check one two
Tick the boxes that correspond to the
types of data you want. You can choose to
import just the track’s region content, or its
plugins, sends and automation data too.

9

On the right tracks
Logic places the imported track(s),
together with any applied plugins (if selected),
neatly below the currently selected track in the
active project’s Tracks area.
