In spite of recent developments, in most companies,
there is still need for a stronger integration of human resource
planning with organizational strategy formulation. Factors that
influence the level of integration include industry differences,
shifts in economic activity, changing technology, and changing
demographics. Several examples of integration of the processes
were provided in this section, along with the barriers that have
often limited such integration in the past. Finally, human
resource managers must develop the personal skills needed to
contribute to the strategy formulation process.
