role for those in human resources to take the lead when it
comes to ethical treatment of employees. Michael Losey has

Advocacy and ethics are important for any
profession, but they are especially significant
roles for human resource managers... It is
customary that the HR executive makes his or her
contribution by first and always being a member
of management. At the same time, HR executives
are paid to understand their communities,
workplace, employee attitudes, and government
regulations and requirements. It is up to the HR
professional to balance and advance the interests
of all parties within the business and strategic
