The figure shows some brain structures that are involved in the generation of emotion;
the amygdala, the nucleus accumbens, the anterior cinguate cortex (ACC), the hippocampus,
the orbitofrontal cortex, and the parahippocampal gyrus.
Traditionally, these structures are named limbic or paralimbic.^24
