scholarships

SILS merit, continuing, special, and

grant-funded scholarships make

significant contributions to serve and

recognize talent and at the same time

contribute to make real the dream of
a SILS M.S.L.I.S. degree. Students

must take a minimum of six credits to

be eligible for scholarship funds. All

entering students are considered for merit

scholarships. Scholarships and fellowships

are offered for continuing students

and include research, internships, and

international study.

For the past several years, SILS

students have greatly benefited from

scholarship funds from Institute of

Museum and Library Services partnership

grants, which award scholarships for

internships and the archives certificate

with the Brooklyn Historical Society,

museum library certificate with

the Brooklyn Museum and Digital

Management program with Brooklyn

Museum, Brooklyn Public Library, and

Brooklyn Historical Society. In addition,

scholarships help students participate in

our London and Florence programs.

Planning Your Program

advisement and mentoring

Upon entering SILS, each student

is assigned a faculty advisor to help

with course planning to meet his/her

educational and career goals. Whether

taking the 36-credit master’s or the

30-credit degree for students holding

a master’s in another field, students

work with their advisors to customize

their programs.

In addition, the SILS office staff,

a team of knowledgeable and caring

professionals, are ready to assist students

and to make their educational experience

at Pratt rewarding and personally

fulfilling. All students should establish

a Pratt email account and sign up for

the SILS listserv to stay informed about

“The fact that Pratt is a school activities and job postings.
