to expedite their application


processing. WES evaluations do not


include translations. The documents


must be officially translated into


English before submitting to WES

The following documents should


be submitted electronically on the

a. Two letters of recommendation


from employers, professors,


or others able to judge your


potential for graduate study


in the specific program.


Recommendation letters are

refuse to submit online, please


ask them to mail their references

Make sure you contact your


references and request a

d. Statement of purpose giving your


long-range goals and interest in


the chosen discipline and reason


for applying to the program: The


statement of purpose, which must


be 250–500 words, should be


uploaded to the application site.

  1. TOEFL score or IELTS score for


international applicants whose


native language is not English.


Unless otherwise indicated


under each department, the


minimum required TOEFL score


is 550 (paper)/213 (computer)/79


(Internet) and the required IELTS


score is 6.5. Please make sure


that you register for a TOEFL


or IELTS test that will enable


you to submit your scores by the


application deadline. It generally


takes four to six weeks to receive


the scores. Check http://www.toefl.org for


information on testing sites.


Slideroom is the preferred method


of submitting portfolios. Letters of


recommendation that are mailed must


be sealed by reference, signed across the


flap of the envelope, and mailed to the


applicant or directly to Pratt.


Submit any print documents in one


envelope if possible and mail to:

January 2. Pratt closes for winter break

We strongly suggest making


photocopies of all mailed forms for your


own records.


Please use your full name on the


application and on all documents and not


nicknames or middle names so that we are


able to match TOEFL scores, transcripts,


etc. with your application.


International Applicants


In addition to the requirements above, all


applicants must demonstrate proficiency


in the English language if their first


language is not English. They may do this


by satisfying the following two language
