11.3.7 Concentration dependence of molar conductivity.

Molar conductivity usually decreases with increasing concentration of the electrolyte. In strong
electrolytes it is roughly a linear function of the second root of concentration

Λ = Λ∞−a

c. (11.35)

whereais a temperature-dependent positive number. This relation does not apply for weak
electrolytes.

Note:The character of the experimental dependence of Λ oncenables to find out whether
an electrolyte is strong or weak.
