Example
Adsorption of acetone(2) from an aqueous solution on charcoal at 18 ◦C can be expressed using
the Freundlich isotherma 2 (mmol g−^1 ) = 5. 12 c^02.^52 , where the acetone concentrationc 2 is given
in mol dm−^3. Calculate the adsorbed amount of substance of acetone forc 2 = 0. 2 mol dm−^3.

Solution
By substituting into the above relation we obtaina 2 = 5. 12 · 0. 20.^52 = 2. 217 mmol g−^1.
