The Teen Survival Guide to Dating & Relating: Real-World Advice on Guys, Girls, Growing Up, and Getting Along

(Martin Jones) #1

Being a teen is sometimes tough—no doubt about that. And relationship
issues are part of the challenge. But these issues canbe worked out. I believe that
having successful relationships always comes down to this:

  1. Be clear about who you are and what’s important to you.

  2. Be aware of your feelings.

  3. Be honest and direct when you communicate.

  4. Treat other people with sensitivity and respect.

While no relationship is “perfect,” every one of yours can be healthy. And
having healthy relationships is a good way to learn, have fun, and grow in pos-
itive ways. If you know what’s right for you and how to express your feelings,
you’ll have better relationships—guaranteed.
Adolescence doesn’t last forever. (For some of you out there, that’s probably
good news.) My daughter just finished her teen years, and my son just started

and confused, sometimes you need someone who will listen and help you
figure out your next step. If you need advice, please email me through my Web

I look forward to hearing from you!
