LEADERS ARE PROMOTERS

giving. Why? Because they understand that Jesus was not timid about the
promotion of giving. They understand this principle given by Christ:

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed
down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured
into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be
measured to you” (Lk. 6:38).

The Apostle Paul understood this same principle, and promoted it among
the early churches. He first stated the negative side of the giving equation:
“Whoever sows sparingly,” wrote Paul, “will also reap sparingly.” He
concluded the principle with the positive statement: “And whoever sows
bountifully will so reap bountifully” (II Cor. 9:6).

This Biblical principle of “sowing and reaping” is an absolutely inviolate life
principle! As such, it relates not only to money – but to every other area
of life! It is this principle of investment that assures us that whatever we give
will some day – in some way – come back to us. Whether in this life or the
next – whatever we invest for Christ will result in eternal dividends. What
better way to summarize this discussion than with the little phrase that
almost every Christian has seen or heard: “Only one life t’will soon be passed;
only what’s done for Christ will last!”
