LEADERS ARE
PUNCTUAL
“Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men,
but as wise, making the most of your time...”
(Ephesians 5:15-16).
“Time efficiency is leadership efficiency.” Management of time and management
of people always go together. If you cannot manage one, you cannot
manage the other. Leaders are always time-conscious people – which means
that they are “on time people.” As a result of that philosophy, they do
not waste their own time nor do they waste other people’s time. Leaders live
with a growing awareness, which increases and intensifies with time,
that TIME is their most precious gift! Leaders understand that time is
their single greatest resource. It is far more valuable than gold or silver
- or any other material possession! Unlike money, time cannot be saved up.
There is no bank account for time. Unlike other resources, time cannot be
stored-up...stocked-piled...reserved...or contained. It can only be used.
Once time is used, it cannot be re-used or un-used. Time is a non-renewable
resource. Once it is spent, it is gone forever. For each and every person,
death marks the end of time.
All effective leaders understand the nature and importance of time –
those increments of our lives that are measured by our watches and by
