FURTHER QUOTATIONS ON
LEADERSHIP AND PATIENCE
1. TRIALS & TESTING:
- Spiritual maturity is indispensable to good leadership. A novice
or new convert should not be pushed into leadership. A plant
needs time to take root and come to maturity, and the process
cannot be hurried. The seen must take root downward before
it can bear fruit upward. J. A. Bengle says that novices usually
have “an abundance of {vegetation}” and are “not yet pruned
by the cross.” In I Timothy 3:10, referring to qualifications for
deacon, Paul urges, “They must first be tested.”^8
- Fenelon writes, “God never makes you suffer unnecessarily. He
intends for your suffering to heal and purify you. The hand of
God hurts you as little as it can. The yoke that God gives is
easy to bear if you accept it without struggling to escape.”^9
- No work of God will be left destitute until its purposes are achieved..^10
