FURTHER QUOTATIONS ON
POWERFUL LEADERS
- ENERGY:
- The world belongs to the energetic. Successful leaders have
energy unlimited because they are committed to what they are
doing...in the end energy will prevail. My formula is: energy,
plus talent, and you are a king; energy, and no talent, and you
are still a prince; talent, and no energy, and you are a pauper.^9
- POWER & AUTHORITY:
- Power is necessary to get things done. It is the gasoline for the
engine. Power can be used negatively to induce fear or positively
as an affirming influence. There is both human power and
spiritual power. Either can be used correctly or abused. Our
character determines our use of power.^10
- Spiritual leadership requires superior spiritual power, which can
never be generated by the self. There is no such thing as a self-
made spiritual leader. A true leader influences others spiritually
only because the Spirit works in and through him to a greater
degree than in those he leads.^11
- The Spirit will not delegate authority into secular or carnal
hands, even when a particular job has not direct spiritual
teaching involved; all workers must be Spirit-led and filled...
The prime consideration is spirituality...^12
- This is what it means to be strong: to submit to a higher truth,
a higher cause, a higher authority. To hold precious the legacy
of the past and walk humbly before the face of the living
God...^13
- Followers expect the executive to exercise authority to rightly
shape behavior. Especially in times of danger or uncertainty,
the follower is comforted by the leader who assertively and
wisely wields authority...“Your rod and your staff, they
comfort me.”^14
