1 Patrick Mandron, from the Service de Restauration des Musées Nationaux; Aubert Gérard,
from the Centre Régional de Restauration et de Conservation des Oeuvres d’Art; and Jean-
Albert Glatigny, from the Institut Royal du Patrimoine Artistique backed two paintings on
limewood, using the balsa-wood/wax-resin treatment. These works, which are by Lucas
Cranach the Elder, represent Saint Peter and Saint Paul, and they belong to the Louvre
Museum.
