nal thickness, damaged by attached (non-
original) metal battens, which restrained
wood movement: (a) front, faced, before treat-
ment; (b) back before treatment; (c) detail of
back, showing metal batten and one split;
(d) temporary reinforcement of metal frame
and honeycomb-core panel, to decrease twist;
(e) in one corner, an adjustable leveler bears
on a flexible wooden batten, against which
the panel was laid.
