ginger macnuts
2 cups macadamia nuts
(^1) ⁄ 4 to (^1) ⁄ 2 teaspoon powdered ginger
(^1) ⁄ 4 teaspoon salt
chai nuts
2 cups cashews
(^1) ⁄ 2 teaspoon cardamom
Pinch of cinnamon
Pinch of ginger
2 cups walnuts, dry-roasted in cast-iron pan

This recipe is from Spinelli’s, a neighborhood grocer around the corner
from my home. It is a great snack.
1 cup raw almonds
2 teaspoons olive oil
11 ⁄ 2 teaspoon dried rosemary
1 teaspoon crushed chili pepper flakes
(^1) ⁄ 2 teaspoon semi-coarse sea salt
- Preheat the oven to 200°F.
- Spread the almonds onto a cookie sheet and roast for 45 minutes.
- Remove the almonds from the oven and let them cool.
- Place the almonds in a large bowl and add the olive oil, rosemary,
pepper flakes, and salt. Mix well.
- Store in an airtight container away from direct sunlight.
