Who is Dana White Today?


Dana and the Fighters.
When Zuffa purchased the UFC, Dana was managing Chuck Liddell, (the Iceman)
and Tito Ortiz, (the Huntington Beach Bad Boy) and working very hard to get them
better pay for their fights. In those early days, Dana became good friends with many
of the fighters, and Tito Ortiz and Dana were very good friends from the moment they
first met. They remained friends as long as Dana was only looking out for Tito’s best
interests, as he should have been.
Back when Tito held the belt in his weight division, Dana came to Boston on
business and Tito came with him. Dana always liked to travel with other people rather
than by himself, his entourage of one or ten it didn’t matter as long as he was not by
himself. It was a Sunday morning, and Dana called to say he was coming by to pick me
up to go to breakfast. I was living on the first floor of the three-decker in South
Boston at the time, and some new people had recently moved in on the second floor,
three young guys probably in their early twenties. They had a stereo system that they
would crank up full blast, and it was so loud I could not even hear my television when
it was on. I had asked them once if they could just keep it down a little because it
was really loud in my apartment. They said they would but that didn’t happen.
The morning that Dana and Tito came over, the boys upstairs had the music
blasting. Dana walked into my apartment, and the first words out of his mouth were,
“Are you fucking kidding me? What the hell is that bullshit?” I told him I had already
asked them once not to crank up the music that loud but obviously they didn’t care.
Tito said, “I’ll take care of this,” and he headed up to the second floor. Within a
couple minutes, the music had stopped and Tito was back in my apartment. Tito said,
“It’s been taken care of you shouldn’t have any more problems with them.” Dana
asked Tito what he had done. Tito answered, “I was knocking on their door and they
couldn’t even hear me. The door was unlocked, so I walked in, and when they saw
me, they turned the music down and wanted to know what I was doing in their
