Dana White, King of MMA

their phones in a little while, see I had called, and call me back to let me know where
they were, but no one ever did call me back. I gave up and went to bed, I thought it
was just as well that I wouldn’t be out half the night before the christening.
The christening was at noon the next day at a church in Quincy, Massachusetts
and of course I was running late. I was on my way to the drugstore on the corner near
my house to get a card, planning to head over to Kelly’s house after that, when my
sister called. She asked, “What are you doing?” I said, “I’m running late and I need to
get to Kelly’s before everyone leaves because I don’t know where the church is.” My
sister replied, “Oh they’re still going to have the christening?”
I was confused by her statement and asked, “What are you talking about?”
She proceeds to tell me that Dana was not going to the christening that he had
called for his jet and was packing and leaving Boston. I couldn’t even grasp what she
was saying. I called Dana’s cell phone and it went straight to voicemail. I called the
hotel and asked for Dana’s room, and the receptionist said, “no calls are to be put
through to that room.” I felt sick to my stomach; I really felt like throwing up. I
couldn’t begin to think why Dana was going to do this to his sister and his niece, his
only sister and only niece. I drove about a hundred miles an hour over to the Boston
Harbor Hotel, pulled up out front, left my car running, and ran through the lobby and
over to the elevators. When I reached Dana’s room, I began pounding on the door. My
brother, who had spent the night there, opened the door in a bathrobe. I’m thinking,
it’s an hour until the christening, and the hotel is twenty-five minutes from the
church!
I went flying into the room. Anne was sitting in the living room in her bathrobe
with the two boys, eating breakfast and watching television. Dana was in one of the
bedrooms packing. I said, “What the hell is going on?” He tells me they are leaving. I
asked, “What about the christening?”
Dana replied, “I don’t give a fuck about the christening and we aren’t going. We
are flying home to Las Vegas now.” At that point, Dana and I are screaming at each
other. He says, since we could not be bothered to go to his party at the club, then he
was not going to the christening. He then added that Kelly’s husband had called him
and really pissed him off, telling Dana that he and Kelly were not going to the party
